South Carolina was the first state to secede in order to maintain states rights it seceded on December 20th 1860 follow by Mississippi on January 9th 1861, Florida on Jan 10th 1861 and Alabama on the 11th and Georgia on the 19th follow by Louisianna on the 26th and Texas seceded on Feb. 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
