That's simple. If the people of the constitutuion have every right to believe in their own religious views, without government intervention, then the government which should be (yet has not been in a while) doing the bidding of the people of the constitution has no constitutional right to imply a one religion upon it's people. In order for the governmentt to complete this it would need to make the people believe that they need a one religion state.
___________
I believe the term is disestablishmentarianism.
Because if a government were to support an official religion of the country, this would mean that peoples right to freedom of religion would be violated. If one particular religion was being imposed then people of other beleifs or no beleifs would be subject to beleifs and ideologies that are not their own.
ANSWER 2:
To answer the question, it is the United States government that prohibits support of an official religion.
the separation of church and state
== Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. === ===
The 1 Amendment... "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The first amendment since it states that there will be "no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"
This is under the First amendment, in part: "...and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The establishment of an official religion would violate the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, which prohibits the government from making any law respecting an establishment of religion.
In some countries, church aka religion is part of government policies and in some countries a particular religion is called the "official religion" of these nations. In Western nations, religion normally plays no role in government practices and policies. In the United States Constitution, the first amendment states that the government cannot establish an "official" religion, nor interfere with the practice of different religions among its citizens. There is a good reason for the amendment to forbid government interference in religion, it prevents government from denying citizens part of their freedoms.
The First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing a religion, which by implication prevents its either supporting or inhibiting religion in general.
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom to practice one's religion without interference from the government.
The First Amendment to the U. S. Constitution prohibits the Government from establishing an official religion or favoring one religion over another. It also guarantees...your right to freely exercise your religion, your freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right of the people peaceably to assemble, andthe right of the people to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution prevents the government from interfering in religion. It also gives people the freedom to practice whatever religion they choose.
The First Amendment's freedom of religion clause protects both the free exercise of religion, allowing individuals to practice their beliefs without interference from the government, and prohibits the establishment of an official religion by the government. This two-fold understanding ensures that individuals have the right to practice their religion freely while also preventing the government from favoring or promoting any particular religion.
