The colonies and this is where all the problems started that lead to the Revolution The British felt that the war was fought in America and that the colonies should shoulder their cost of the war so they began taxing the colonies at higher rates and on more things. There had always been taxes, but much of the time the tax had been ignored and not collected. The men who fought in the French and Indian war came home with combat experience and so now there was a group of men who knew how to do more than shoot squirrels .Until this time the king had very little interest in the colonies, but that changed as things began to heat up.
