Seleucus Nicator was assassinated in 281 BC, not 305 BC. He was killed by Ptolemy Keraunos, who sought to eliminate Seleucus as a rival for power in the region. Ptolemy Keraunos himself later met a violent end, illustrating the turbulent political landscape of the time.
