Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko Anglicized name is Thaddeus Koschiusko, he was granted Brigadier General status for his contributions to the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and was a Polish national hero, having been the leader of the Kosiuszko Uprising against the Russians. He was also highly regarded by Lithuanians as well as the people of Belarus for the same uprising. The house he lived in while in the colonies stands as a tourist attraction in Philadelphia.
