It would seem you mean 'Thucydides'.
He was a Greek historian that lived from 460 B.C. to 400 B.C. (notice B.C. counts down). He was the son of an Aristocrat, Olorus.
He after recovering from the Plague that hit Athens hard in 430 B.C. he commanded the Athenian Squadron of 7 ships at Thasos in 424 B.C. but because he couldn't help Amphipolis he was condemned to death (Greeks were a proud people).
He took refuge by exile in his Thracian estates.
His largest 'gift' was his ability to look for the commonalities of events in stead of just writing the facts of events as most historians did. He sought out the motives of Statesmen and actions of the government to give a reasoned account of why. He is at times credited with being the first to record history using human behavior though analysis of why the action was needed and how it was carried out.
