John Tyler (March 29, 1790 - January 18, 1862) tenth President(1841-1845) was the first president to get married while in office.

(Grover Cleveland was the second President to marry while in office, and the only President to get married in the White House itself. Woodrow Wilson also remarried while in office.)

John Tyler, Grover Cleveland and Woodrow Wilsonwere the only three Presidents who got married during their term in office. Only Cleveland was married in a White House ceremony. Cleveland was a bachelor when he took office, but Tyler and Wilson both lost their first wives to death and remarried while they were in office.
