Granted not all Americans are thick, but it doesn't take a genius to know what your asking as many lack in knowledge... But much of it it through a lot of ignorance on both history and current world affairs as well as poor teaching. Additionally many feel their superior and that they run the world. On top of this they change the spellings and pronounciations of an already existing language and try to pass it on as proper English! This would be like a child changing the French language as they cant quite grasp the full language!
