Caesar did not actually have to escape Sulla's soldiers. Sulla stripped him of the priesthood he was holding, his inheritance and his wife's dowry. He also wanted him to divorce his wife, but he refused. His mother's family, which included supporters of Sulla, persuaded Sulla not to pursue this. However, Caesar still did not feel safe because he belonged to the political faction opposed to Sulla and left Rome. He went to Greece and joined the army there.
Florence was originally established by Julius Caesar in 59 BC as a settlement for his veteran soldiers. No guidebook of mine mentions Hercules in this connection.

In Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar," Brutus and Cassius's forces are captured by Antony's soldiers during the Battle of Philippi. Specifically, it is captured soldiers from Brutus's camp who are taken prisoner. The defeat of Brutus and his allies ultimately leads to their downfall, further solidifying Antony's power after Caesar's assassination.
the policy of paying soldiers
Killing that soldiers do, however regrettable, is under the power of the state. It is not the sole act of a single person. It is therefore not the same as murder. "Then Jesus said to them, "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." Mark 12:17 (NIV) "Caesar" is the state.
Caesar commanded 45,000 troops at Alesia.
they served Caesar and did his bidding.
At Corfinium, Julius Caesar besieged the town where many of his rivals, including Pompey's supporters, had taken refuge. After a prolonged siege, the soldiers and citizens of Corfinium surrendered. Instead of executing or punishing them, Caesar showed clemency by allowing the soldiers to join his ranks, which helped to bolster his forces and demonstrate his leadership. This act of mercy was part of his broader strategy to win over opponents and consolidate power.
The Roman Empire was larger in Constantine's time than in Caesar's because by then the roman soldiers had conquered more of the World. == ==
