Part of the medieval steward's job was to take care of the castle and efficiently run the household. Because of his importance, the steward was always expected to look his best. He was the Master of the Wardrobe and dressed almost as well as they nobility he served.

A large round hat, scarlet in color, with tassels. A watered silk scarlet robe with a train. Velvet gloves, usually white with his coat of arms. A scarlet cassock covered by a richly embroider white coverlet. Scarlet shoes and socks.
