Very simple clothing. Women had a shirt, a blouse and no shoes. Men a pair of pants and top and no shoes. They were lucky to get a coat or any extra clothing. Most had one of each and nothing more. The planter was out to make a profit and wanted to save money so they gave the slaves as little as possible.
