Minoan Culture was there as realy as 2700 BC - the Mycenaean Greek period - the time they wrote The Odyssey about was about 1800 BC during the to 1100 BC into the iron age. The seventeenth and sixteenth century BC was the peak period for ancient Greece.

Life was really short. The average age was about 35-40 years old at death. There were two phases to life. Baby and adult (no teens that won't happen until the 1940's).
