I am not sure exactly how many there where total, but there were 12 main gods and goddesses. Don't get these confused with Titans! There was the "Big Three" and consisted of Zeus (God of the Skies), Poseidon (God of the Seas), and Hades (God of the Underworld). There were less major Gods and Goddesses here are the more famous ones: Ares (God of War), Athena(Goddess of Wisdom), Hera (Goddess of Marriage), Apollo (God of Prophecy), Hermes (Messenger God), Demeter (Goddess of the Bountiful Harvest), Aphrodite(Goddess of Love and Beauty) Dionysus (God of Wine and Festivities), and Hephaestus (God of the Forge). The other god was Hestia (the Goddess of Hearth)

there are 12 main Greek gods/goddesses. they sit on a council and make all the decisions. Zeus is the head of this council. there are many other minor gods/goddesses, but they are not very important. think of them like patron saints. some are more important than others. the patron saint of love is important, but the patron saint of taxi drivers is not as important. :-) (and yes, there is actually a patron saint of taxi drivers) the same is true of the minor Greek gods/goddesses. concentrate on the council of 12, though, for all your mythological research. i doubt you will find much, if anything, on the minor gods.
