It depends how you define "famous." Furthermore, it is hard to define what makes up a full myth. Someone might say that everything pertaining to the Trojan War amounts to one myth, while someone else might say that the Trojan horse, the death of Achilles, Odysseus's journey home, etc. are all individual myths. Someone might divide Odysseus's trip into even smaller "whole" myths and decide that some are famous and some are not.

There are many Greek myths. There is so many that it's hard to count them all. They have been altered and passed down for many years making it hard to count. If this doesn't help.... ASK GOOGLE!
The Trojan War comes from Greek myths and legends.
The Greek myths were stories told by the Ancient Greeks made to explain strange events, things in nature, and basically everythingon the Earth. The Greek myths weren't written down until writing in Greece was actually develpoed, and before that, the myths were all told by mouth. That is why there are many different versions of the myths. In books telling about Greek myths, the myths may be written down, but usually not every single Greek myth is in one book, as there are lots of them. I do not think one Ancient Greek man could have known or told every single myth either.
In Greek mythology there were many myths concerning Hades.
Largely because the Greek myths are at least three thousand years old: they are known world-wide, authors may wish to "cash into" that knowledge a reader has, or keep the Greek myths going strong.
