I don't think there were any strict measures on how old a soldier had to be in the Ancient Egyptian army. Obviously one would have to have enough physical strength to wield weapons and carry around a soldier's kit, so probably anywhere from the age of 18 and up. There are instances where some royal princes would accompany their father-pharaohs, even though they still wore their hairstyle in the manner of children, i.e. with the sidelock of youth. This could indicate they were still in puberty, as Egyptian males really "came of age" in their late teens or early twenties.
