In 'Jason and the Argonauts' why was the blind man tormented by harpies?

Because he disobeyed the Gods and Goddesses and did what they hated. He was forced to live on an island full of harpies and live forever, but it was his own fault Zeus did this, not because he was evil, or mean, because the blind man was disobeying them and talking rude things about them. He even yells at them, he was also sent there to tell everything he knew to Jason, that would help him rach his destination. (the golden fleece.)
