The Pharaoh's believed they would be judged by Ptah, Christians fully expect there to be a Heaven, Vikings knew there was a Valhalla, native amrican believed in a"happy hunting ground", even the Greeks had a rather dismal afterlife of wandering around. Nobody has come back to say that they were wrong in their beliefs.
