Sikander was the King of Macedonia in northern Greece born in Pella in 356 B.C. He is known to the world today as Alexander the Great. His Greek name, Alexandros, means He Who Protects Men. He was the first military leader to ever set out on a conquest that began in northern Greece reaching all the way to India, spreading along his path the ancient Greek culture.
