How did geography affect early Chinese civilizations?
well because of its many larger and navigable rivers, was able to grow and expand but still keep in touch with all of its land and people. Those rivers made communication and trade much easier than it would have been otherwise. Also, Tibetan Plateau to its west served as kind of a wall, separating China from the western part of Eurasia. This helped China and other Far East countries to develop and keep their identities and avoid cultural influence from the Mid East and Europe.
