Calypso is the daughter of Atlas, and is known for the punishment she was forced to bear. She is encountered in Homer's epic poem the Odyssey. Calypso is marooned on an island, Oygyia, with no hope of escape. She received this punishment because during the war the titans vs. the Olympians Calypso sided with her father, who fought with the Titans. The Olympians of course won the war, and therefore Calypso was punished.
