There is some controversy about Pharaoh Hor Aha. Some think this is another name for the son of Namur and others say it was the same as the first pharaoh.
The majority think Hor Aha was the son of the first pharaoh and he conquered the Nubians and united upper and lower Egypt.

There is some debate surrounding the identity of the ancient Egyptian ruler who succeeded King Menes. Many claim his successor to be Hor-Aha, who would have lived sometime during the thirty-first century BC, but some argue that he is the same individual as the famous Menes.
I'm almost positive he was the son of menes (aha, scorpion, narmer, whatever u wanna call him). I'm only answering this question because I'm 100% sure the first answer was wrong.

It is common belief that Pharaoh Menes of the early dynastic period of Egypt is the one to have united upper and lower Egypt into one single Kingdom. But some believe that he is confused with Pharaoh Narmer, who they believe in actuality was the one to credit for the unification. Also the first-dynasty Pharaoh, Hor-aha, is said to have done the deed.
The king was Mene. Menes is a legendary name like Minos of Crete. Archaeologists are uncertain of the exact identity of the single king who unified Egypt. The unification occurred after the reign of Ka (also called Scorpion II) and was probably partly accomplished by Narmer and finished by his son Hor-Aha who was succeeded by Pharoah Zer. Most likely Menes consists of both Narmer and Hor-Aha together. This was accomplished around about 3000 BCE.
Ancient Egypt is both a well known civilization, however, it has many secrets. One issue is the first Egyptian pharaoh. Many historians believe this would be Pharaoh Narmer. He is given credit for unifying ancient Egypt in approximately 3100 BC.
Pharaoh Menes is credited with unifying Upper and Lower Egypt, establishing the first centralized government in Egypt. He is considered to be the first pharaoh of the First Dynasty. Menes is often associated with the founding of Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt.
Traditionally Menes was indeed king. Traditionally he is credited with unifying Egypt. Probably the same person as the Scorpion King and a Pharaoh called Namar. Reigned c.3100. Modern scholarship attributes the unification of Egypt to his successor Hor-Aha (reigned c.3050BC).
