Both are persons of the Greek Mythology.

Chiron or Cheiron (Χείρων) was a demigod, the son of Cronus and Philyra. He was often mistaken for a centaur, due to his appearance; but he was not directly related to them. He was known for his knowledge and skill with medicine. A great healer, astrologer, and respected oracle, Chiron was said to be the last centaur and highly revered as a teacher and tutor. Among his pupils were many culture heroes: Asclepius, Aristaeus, Ajax, Aeneas, Actaeon, Theseus, Achilles, Jason, Peleus, Telamon, Heracles, and others.

Charon (Χάρων) was the ferryman of Hades who carried souls of the newly deceased across the River Styx that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead.
