The myth describes why Narcissus Lilies (which we call Daffodils) always face down. Echo was already cursed by Hera to repeat what she heard, but in the myth, she pines away because of the spurning of Narcissus. Only her voice remains, creating the echos we hear today.
There are actually four main characters in the story of Echo and Narcissus: Zeus, Hera, Echo, Narcissus.
The nymph that was spurned by Narcissus was Echo.

Yes. The story of Echo and Narcissus is a flower myth from Greek mythology.
Where echoes come from, and where the flower narcissus does - the flower the Greeks call narcissus is different than the one in the US.
Don't fall in love with yourself. That is the moral.
No because in the myth, they died before they got married
The usual origin myth for Echo was probably invented by the Roman poet Ovid in the first century BC. According to Ovid, Echo was a wood-nymph who fell in love with the beautiful youth Narcissus. But Echo could only repeat what had just been said to her, so Narcissus found her a tiresome companion (and anyway, Narcissus had fallen in love with his own reflection). Echo pined away with love of Narcissus, until only her voice remained. Narcissus became a daffodil gazing longingly at its own loveliness beside a mountain pool. And they all lived happily ever after.
a theme for echo's character can be not to talk a lot. a theme for narcissus is not to be too conceited about yourself.

For one thing Echo was a girl and Narcissus was a boy. Another thing was that Narcissus was very cruel to Echo.

Echo well, refers to your voice echoing. She could only repeat what others said. Narcissus was a youth and he was gazing at himself in a pool. He sat there for so long that he changed into a flower. That is supposedly the origin of the Narcissus flower.
