Hieroglyphics were printed on Papyrus. This is found in dictionaries and on one of my research sheets. I don't Know any good Egyptian websites to look on. I'm studying the same thing as you are. Are you a freshman? most are doing it this month.

Some pictures also show scribes to be engraving hieroglyphs into stone. Scribes are well educated ancient Egyptian men who were specially trained to write in hieroglyphs. They were very well-respected members of society. -Insider55

Mainly the tools to create (carved) hieroglyphics where a hand chipped stone

with a pointed edge and hammer. If your thinking about a written hieroglyphic

witch are only black thay used a stick which thay had just burnt with the

charcoal like end.
