Some felt alone, frightened and bewildered. A lot didn't know why they were being separated from thei friends and family. Imagine being sent away, not knowing why, to live with people you don't know. However, some felt excited, as if it was one big holiday, as many of these city children had never been to the countryside before.

Not Very fun. Some people didn't really treat evacuees very well. But others are treated extremely well. Not everyone enjoyed being evacuated they missed their parents and their parents were maybe bombed and they had to be adopted. Yes, I think it was a varied experience. Of course it came as a great shock to the children to be uprooted & have their lives affected so greatly.
