You'll come up with several sites showing good pictures of Cleopatra's cartouche. A cartouche was a person's signature box. All the hieroglyphics of his/her name are in there.

in ancient egypt makeup was a common use. eye shadow pots, mirrors & perfume jars were most likely found in these boxes. toilet boxes were also buried with mummies so that they could be availible to them in the after life. it oftet had religious significance. the box is also made of wood with in laid ivory detail.
