There are two legends of which how she was born. One was that she was the child of Zeus and Dione. Another was that she was born from the sea foam after Cronus castrated Uranus.
Venus (or Aphrodite) is Uranus's daughter (he is the god of the sky). Uranus was castrated by the Titans, his children with Gaia earth god (who was also his mother). His genital were thrown in to the sea, and from the white foam which spread around Venus was born.
Of course, there are many myths involving Aphrodite. She is one of the twelve Olympians and is an important goddess. Her involvement in the Trojan war and the Judgement of Paris is well-known. Perhaps the most commonly told story about Aphrodite is her birth. When Cronus castrated his father, Uranus, his genitals fell into the ocean below. From the blood of Uranus' genitals sprang Aphrodite, and she tumbled into the ocean and emerged on the shore.
Greek goddess Aphrodite was born of the foam from the sea after Saturn (Greek Cronus) castrated his father Uranus (Ouranus) and his blood fell to the sea. Venus is Roman.
The Greek goddess Gaea is literally the earth. She is known as "Earth Mother" "Mother Earth" or as we would know her, "Mother Nature". She is one of the original gods in Greek mythology. She came from Chaos and had many children my herself and also with her son Uranus. The main story of Gaea is that Gaea came from Chaos, Gaea gave birth to Uranus, from Uranus and Gaea can the titans, cyclops, and the hecatoncheires. Uranus then locked his children in the underworld but then Cronus, the youngest of the titans, went with Gaea and castrated Uranus and from Uranus' genitals that were thrown into the sea came Aphrodite. When Cronus did this to his father, Uranus said that one of Cronus' sons would overthrow him so when Cronus and his sister Rhea had children he swallowed all of them until his sixth child whom Rhea hid and swaddled a stone in cloth so Cronus ate it. That sixth child was Zeus. Zeus and Rhea gave Cronus something which caused him to throw up the rest of his children. They were not dead because they were Gods. Zeus then overthrew his father.
