Together they had 12 sons and 6 daughters, the eldest of which were giants he locked in the belly of the Earth, causing Gaia much pain. Gaia persuaded her Titan sons to rebel, and once they had defeated their father, Uranus prophesied the fall of the Titans and the punishment they would suffer for their crimes, a prophesy fulfilled by Zeus, who deposed the brothers and cast them into the Tartarean pit.
