For many people the "Father of of Medicine" was Hippocrates a Greek physician who lived from 460 BC. to 370 BC. in the Age of Pericles.

He is credited with coining the "Hippocratic Oath" still relevant and used today.

Hippocrates separated the discipline of medicine from religion. He believed and argued that diseases were not a punishment inflicted by the Gods.
