The civilization directly south of ancient Egypt was Nubia, which is located in present-day Sudan. Nubia was known for its rich resources, including gold, and it played a significant role in trade and cultural exchange with Egypt. The region was home to several powerful kingdoms, such as the Kingdom of Kush, which at times ruled over Egypt itself during the 25th Dynasty.

The Egypt is divided into three periods. They are the old kingdom, the middle kingdom and the kingdom.
As Ancient Egypt started, there were two kingdoms. The Upper kingdom was in the south, and the lower kingdom was in the north. When the two kingdoms were united, we get what we call toady Ancient Egypt. Ancient Egypt covered what we know today as Egypt, and part of modern Nubia. Eventually Alexander the Great conquered Egypt for Macedonia, and set the Ptolemy's on the throne. The Macedonian dynasty ended with Cleopatra when Julius Caesar took over Egypt for Rome.
After Egypt fell and Kush took over, the Kingdom of Kush, based in what is now Sudan, became the dominant power. The Kushites ruled Egypt during the 25th Dynasty, known as the "Kushite Dynasty," which lasted from around 747 to 656 BCE. This period saw a resurgence of monumental building and cultural revival in Egypt, as the Kushite pharaohs embraced and promoted Egyptian traditions. Ultimately, however, their rule ended when the Assyrian Empire invaded and expelled the Kushites from Egypt.
The Hyksos were a group of foreign rulers who invaded and ruled over parts of ancient Egypt during the Second Intermediate Period. Their presence on the map of ancient Egypt is significant because they introduced new military tactics, technology, and cultural influences to the region. The Hyksos also played a role in the eventual reunification of Egypt under the New Kingdom pharaohs.
The Old Kingdom government in Egypt was an absolute monarchy. The King was considered a god and had unfettered control over his people. They were referred to as King during this period, not Pharaoh.
There are over 100 pyramids that were built in Ancient Egypt. Most of them were built as burial sites for pharaohs.
