Hermes was the god of boundaries and the travelers who cross them, merchants, thieves, liars, math, athletics, shepherds, cowherds, road travelers, orators, wit, literature and poets.
There was no single God of Sports, but the Olympic Games of ancient Greece were named in honour of the God Olympus, and Zeus and Athena were celebrated at these contests. Artemis was the Goddess of Hunting.
