People lived in places where there was complex civilization because they found themselves settled in those areas.

People lived where they did in complex civilizations for a variety of reasons, including access to resources such as water, fertile land for agriculture, trade routes, natural defenses like mountains or rivers, and strategic locations for political or economic power. Additionally, cultural and religious factors often played a role in determining settlement locations. Overall, the location of complex civilizations was influenced by a combination of practical, geographical, and societal factors.

Oh, dude, people lived where they lived in complex civilizations because, like, they needed stuff to survive, you know? Like water, food, trade routes, good views for Instagram... Plus, it's way more fun to build pyramids and stuff when you have neighbors to show off to. So yeah, basically, they settled down in cool spots for practical reasons and to flex their architectural skills.

Well, honey, people lived where they did in complex civilizations for a whole bunch of reasons. It could be because of fertile land for farming, access to trade routes, or even just good ol' fashioned strategic defense. Basically, they weren't picking spots just for the view - they had some serious practical reasons behind it.

What allowed civilization to become complex was the easy access and amiability of food. Once one farmer could feed hundreds if not thousands of people that allowed others to devote time to specializing task such as blacksmiths and creating a writing script thus keeping records. The importance of water to safeguard an abundant and stable food supply, due to favorable conditions for hunting, fishing and gathering resources including cereals, provided an initial wide spectrum economy that triggered the creation of permanent villages.
