The social structure of the Zhou dynasty starts with the peasants in the bottom. They are responsible for farming the land of the nobles. The peasants are followed by the lords and warriors. They pay taxes to the king while the warriors protect his land. The king is on the topmost. He leads the government and gives land to the lords.
