Who is Joseph Q Whipple painter?

Joseph Q. Whipple was an artist and sculptor who specialized in wildlife creations which combined a painted plaster half section of the body mounted on the backdrop which was then painted along with the object. The finished image gave the viewer a "window" into the woods in which this realistic image appeared to be running, or flying, etc. Joseph lived in Canton, Ohio where his family had a long history. Whipple Avenue was named after his family. Joseph enjoyed painting along side nearby Leesville Lake in Carroll County in between fishing excursions in hi beloved canoe. He sold his work through local shops in Canton and to Abercrombie & Fitch in New York. He was a man of integrity, had a pleasant personality and was liked by all who knew him.

Who is wildlife artist Jerry C Aden?

Jerry C. Aden was born in 1939 and raised in the river town of Quincy, Illinois. Situated high on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi, Quincy offered excellent fishing, duck and deer hunting. Throughout his childhood, Aden heard stories from old-timers about hunting in the backwaters and on the islands of the river. As soon as he was old enough to carry a shotgun, he took to the woods, and as he searched for game, accumulated the wealth of knowledge about wildlife that he would draw upon when he painted many years later. His technique in watercolor is unusual because his work is very precise and detailed, unlike most watercolor painting, which is very loose and fluid. He strives for the realism which only comes from hours of firsthand study of his subjects. He researches every subject in detail to make sure his painting is true to life in every respect. Although he can paint in all media, his talent emerged as an outstanding watercolor artist whose perception and knowledge of wildlife and their habitat are evident by the life-like quality of his painting. Aden's work has appeared in art exhibits and competition, banks and other businesses, and many of his paintings belong to private art collections throughout the United States. He belongs to several wildlife organizations dedicated to wildlife preservation, and he has donated his paintings to auctions to raise money for their wildlife work. The increased demand for his paintings prompted him to form his company, Brushstrokes Unlimited, which offers limited edition prints as well as original work. Aden earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Northeast Missouri State University in 1962. He lives in Quincy with his wife and two children, Angie and Curt.
