Gaston Pierre
I bought a large oil painting of a French street scene signed Gaston Pierre from an antique store. On the back it explains: "Gaston Pierre was born in Belgium in 1932. He ha studied art both formally and informally in Belgium and France. His unique style and technique ha won him many awards in Europe. He is currently exhibiting in over 15 cities in the United States."
As far as I can tell, this is NOT the same person as Gaston-Pierre Galey who was born in France in 1880. The signatures are also very difference (Galey in small cursive, and Gaston Pierre in large block letters).
The theme of Springtime by Pierre Auguste Cot is a young couple in love for the first time. It was painted in 1873.
