I painted mine this week. The first time I drove it, it smoked a little. I noticed at a stoplight (and so did everyone else!) freaked me out for a while, but the smoke dissipates after just a couple miles.

I've only driven a day with the painted exhaust. Smells a little like melted crayons. I'm just relieved the smoking is done! I predict you will be go to go!

You did not use the correct paint. You must use a High Heat paint made especially for surfaces that get very hot. Once all the paint burns off, which it will, sand it and use a paint like this. http://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-flameproof-coating/
