ancient Rome had a strong government in which there were many branches and a leader. Like Ancient Greece, Rome used a democracy as a type of government. Other parts of Rome might have used a Dictatorship, where one leader makes all the choices for everyone. As we have today, the ancient Romans had a Senate. All cultures (or civilizations) borrow from other cultures. This can be done by various means such as, war, trade, intellectual contact. At the time of the Roman expansion, the Greek culture was predominant in the area. Sicily was Greek and southern Italy itself was heavily populated with Greek cities. It was inevitable that Greek ideas would merge with the Roman practicability.

The Greco-Roman came about as a result of embracing the Greeks and the Romans as their masters and therefore adapting some of their cultures and practices. After a long period of coexistence, the regions that were under the governments of Greek and Roman empires embraced their practices and culture, forming a hybrid of Greek-Roman culture.
