I assume you mean the Renaissance, as the modern period does not begin until at least the 19th century. Here's my opinion:
1. European adaptation of gunpowder (revolutionized warfare)
2. Discovery of the Americas (revolutionized politics, empires, and daily life)
3. Fascination with antiquity (revolutionized art, culture, and architecture)

The impacts of the Crusades were significant. They led to increased trade and cultural exchange between Europe and the Middle East, fostering the spread of new ideas and technologies. However, they also resulted in religious tensions and violence between different groups, including Christians, Muslims, and Jews. The Crusades also marked the beginning of centuries-long conflicts and colonization attempts in the name of religion.

The next age after the Middle Ages was the Renaissance or Early Modern Age. There is a bit of overlap between the two, as the Renaissance is taken as beginning about 1350 and the Middle Ages ending about 1450 or so.

In 1453 AD, the Byzantine Empire came to an end with the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire. This event marked the conclusion of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance, as well as the shift in power from the Eastern to the Western world. Additionally, it brought about significant changes in politics, religion, and culture in Europe and the Middle East.

Most Middle Easterners are Arab Muslims, but there are significant populations of non-Arabs in the Middle East and significant populations of non-Muslims as well.
Some of the problems encountered when defining the beginning of the Middle Ages is determining the beginning of Christianity and coinciding that with the fall of Rome.
One important date in Roman history is 476 AD, when the Western Roman Empire officially fell. This event marked the end of ancient Rome and the beginning of the Middle Ages in Europe. Another important date is 27 BC, when Augustus became the first Roman emperor, establishing the Roman Empire. This marked a significant shift in Roman government and power.
