There was not a war against Rome an Egypt. There was a short-lived attempt to take away Egypt from the Roman Empire.

Egypt was annexed to the Roman Empire by Octavian when he won the Final Civil War of the Roman Republic (which was a fight over who would become the sole ruler of Rome and her territories) against Mark Antony and his ally, Cleopatra VII of Egypt. Thenceforth, Egypt was a Roman province and thus part of Rome.

In 260 Zenobia conquered Egypt during the creation of a breakaway empire.

In 232 the Romans were defeated by the Persians in one of the many wars between these two powers. A rebellion by the Roman legions in Syria was suppressed. In 260 the emperor Valentinian was defeated By the Persians and captured. He died in captivity. The Roman Empire was in crisis and the defence of Syria from the Persians was entrusted to Odaenathus, the king of Palmyra, a powerful city in Syria.

Odaenathus was assassinated and succeeded by his son Vaballathus. The real power was in the hands of his mother Zenobia. Taking advantage of the squabbles between the Romans of the secession of Roman provinces of Britannia and Gallia, which formed a breakaway empire (the Gallic Empire) Zenobia created her own breakaway empire: the Palmyrene Empire. She used the legions in Syria and she led them to war. She conquered Syrian Lebanon, part of Turkey, Palestine and Egypt. In the conquest of Egypt she was helped by a Roman general who deployed his legions against the governor of Egypt in conjunction with Zenobia's forces. After the victory Zenobia called herself Queen of Egypt. She also adopted the title of Augustus for her son and Augusta for herself. She was a good military leader and a good horse rider. She was nicknamed the warrior queen.

Ten year later the emperor Aurelian retook this part of the Roman Empire and defeated Zenobia in two battles in Syria (near Antioch and near modern day Homs).

Did Egyptians have war with Romans?

Yes, they had the Alexandrian War which Julius Caesar won. They also could be considered to have had the last civil war against Egypt. Although the war was declared against Cleopatra and there were Egyptian troops and rowers in Antony's navy, the war was in reality a civil war between Antony and Octavian.

Where did Romans find a healthy supply of slaves?

In antiquity slaves were war captives. Enslaving war captives was part of the war booty of victory. The Romans got plentiful slaves pool when they won a war and, especially, when they seized a foreign town. It was said that when Rome won the Third Macedonian War against the Kingdom of Macedon in Greece, 300,000 Greeks were taken to the slave market in Rome. When Rome destroyed Carthage, she sold 50,000 Carthaginians as slaves. After the destruction of Jerusalem, 97,000 Jews were enslaved.
