Italy entered WW2 on June 10, 1940 when Mussolini attacked Great Britain and France. I hope this helps :)

Definitely World War 2. I think the estimated deaths might be around 50 million, compared to around 10 million for World War I, but nobody knows the real figures. World War 2 lasted longer, involved more countries, took place over a wider area (such as Africa & Asia), and involved more lethal weapons. It also featured the specific targeting of civilian populations -- the Nazi death camps and the bombing of cities, including the atomic bombings in Japan.

There is a scripture that talks about not being involved in war in 1Corintinans 10:3,4
They chose to get involved when the declared war on Germany and Italy on 9-10-39. Later, they declared war on Japan when they attacked the US. (Sure hope there were not a lot of Canadians in Hawaii on vacation then!)
Prior to the First World War, the Italians had been supportive of the Austro-Hungarian and German Empires. They delayed participation in the war for a year. When they finally became involved on April 26, 1915, it was on the opposing side, with the Triple Entente of Britain, France, and Russia.Again with the Second World War, the Italians delayed participation for a year. They became involved on June 10, 1940. This time, they supported Nazi Germany.
