Santa Ana's name is spelled "Ana" instead of "Anna." The vicious winds that whip through California, Arizona and Nevada in the summer and fall are named the Santa Ana winds after this president of Mexico.

Why did Santa Anna decide to bring his troops into Texas?

WHO SANTA ANNA IS: Santa Anna was adictator over Mexico when Texas when Texas was part of Mexico Santa Anna also had unfair rules like: You HAVE to be a Catholic and you HAVE to know the Mexican language WHATS GOING ON: Stephine F. Austin signed a contract from Spain to take people to Texas. He gets there and forgers that Mexico just claimed Texas. So he goes to the president (Santa Anna) and Santa Anna says " OK you can have land if you sign this contract." But before he sighed the contract he sends a letter something like this: Unpack your things and settle your horses relax in your new houses that you shawl build. I'll be back. Sincerely Stephine F. A. Long story short; Santa finds the letter and arrests Stephine. Immigrants find rules of Mexico and says its not fair. Immigrants pore in and Santa gets scared and douse not allow any more. So he douse the west side sweep and brings a army with him and kills every one and collects resources So Sam Huston is a day ahead with people warning them so they travel together. Well theirs a lake with a bridge and a hill with another lake and bridge. Santa Anna is on one and Sam Houston is on the other side. So Santa is asleep and the solders are unguarded with weapons and stuff. Well Sam Huston and the others are not. Well Sam says to get to canons out which are called Twin Sisters or ST and there guns out. It is 4:00 in the morning. There is barely light. So Sam gives the signal to fire so people are coming to attack Sam and them. Well Santa wakes up and dresses as a solider and goes to Sam, and when he got there, the solders saluted him. So all the sudden Sam knew it was Santa. And every one wanted to shot him but Sam said no and told him to go and and never come back to Texas. And to make sure he did not do any thing bad, he sent 2 guys with him. And Texas won its independence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Santa Anna was the leader of Mexico during the Texas Revolution and the Mexican-American War. When Texas wished independence from Mexico, Santa Anna mobilized troops. Most famous of the battles in the Texas Revolution was the Alamo, where Santa Anna killed everyone on the opposing side. He was, however, defeated in the end and Texas gained independence. When Texas was annexed to the United States, however, Santa Anna was mad again, and attacked when President Polk walked American troops into disputed territories.
