Why was ho chi minh trail effective?

The HO CHI MINH Trail was "Very" effective. But it wasn't a trail. It was a "Network" of roads and trails. If the US could have "widened" the war and involved Cambodia & Laos, the Ho Chi Minh could have easily been destroyed or occupied by US/Allied forces. Of course, then, possibly Red China and/or the Soviets would have had something to say about it. Red China DID enter the Korean War when US Forces invaded North Korea in 1950. So we simply bombed it, and conducted covert operations against it.

Why United States Help Vietnam fight the Japanese in 1944?

The US supported Ho Chi Minh fight the Japanese in Vietnam as part of their war with Japan .

Why did US dislike Ho Chi Minh?

Guess what, I'm one of those people. Ho Chi Minh is a cruel, cruel man, he killed his own people in many tragic ways. Just saying that is getting me mad. He lived in the Northern part of Viet Nam but wanted to take over the Southern part of Viet Nam, that's where I used to live. But doesn't that sound so stupid? We lived in the same country but why does he wanted to fight for land? The people in the Northern part were super strong, but our people were not afraid, they risks their lives to save their families. Ho Chi Minh Killed everyone that was in his way, even old people and children, you should see some of the movies about the Viet Nam war, when Ho Chi Minh kill old womans because they don't want him to take away their kids and grandkids. Sadly, the Viet Nam war ended and Ho Chi Minh won. Now Viet Nam is under the control of the people in Northern part, which means is under the control of Ho Chi Minh. Even though he's dead but his powers are still strong. People in Viet Nam honor him for that and Southern people were forced to honor him or else they'll go to jail or even get kill. So now only the Northern people get to be presidents and can do anything they want, like take money and houses and maybe even families, my grandma was forced to give away her house so she have to hire a lawyer and fight for her old house for many years. That's why so many Vietnamese are in USA now, including my family, too.

Why did the US support France Vietnam War Efforts?

Because this was during the cold war. After the communist takeover in China by Mao Zedong, the US was convinced that this may happen again in Vietnam. To avoid this, they supported the French to stop communism in Vietnam to happen.

How should have us conducted Vietnam war?

This would be a "Cuban Missile Crisis" Gamble: Tell Red China and the USSR that if North Vietnam does not remove their forces from Laos and Cambodia (Ho Chi Minh Trail) that the US will destroy (physically occupy) Laos and Cambodia and/or invade NORTH Vietnam. And that Red China and the USSR should stay out of the war. In return, "IF" North Vietnam removes the Ho Chi Minh trail (Laos/Cambodia), and does NOT violate any other nation's neutrality, the US will revert to militarily supporting the Republic of South Vietnam with advisers and equipment. The war will be fought strictly by the North and the South Vietnamese; as surrogates for the free world and the communist world.
