Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian terrorist, failed to assassinate Franz Ferdinand a first time... so he went to a delicatessen for a quick bite to eat (a sandwich). By coincidence, Franz Ferdinand was outside after making a wrong turn, and Gavrilo Princip shot him.

This triggered WWI.
