They felt Jews were sub human. Many Nazi loathed the Jews or any other non aryan race. It was their duty in their eyes. To Himmler it was small matters they were nothing. Many Nazis wanted to wipe out the whole race to them it was not killing.

by the time the 'final solution' became apparent, Germany was so corrupt and indoctrinated that Jews were bad that the Nazis didn't need to justify the solution because everyone believed the Nazis were doing it all for the good of Germany. Looking back on it, it seems hard to believe but it was all due to Nazi indoctrination.

This is a progression and my explanation only hits a few high points:

  1. Starting with the end of the First World War, WW1, Germany is required to pay enormous compensation to the allies.
  2. The Great Depression Starts
  3. Germany having already been under great financial hardship from the reparations being paid is hurt worse than most countries by this.
  4. A charismatic leader comes in. His name is Adolf Hitler. His political way of getting elected was to promise financial recovery and a return of Germany to Military strength to protect itself.
  5. When the financial situation does not improve instantly he plays on a common stereotype and prejudice against the Jew's.
  6. As time passes the German People and Government both believe the propaganda that the only way to protect the purity of the German people is to get rid of the Jews and other Genetically and morally Impure people. It is interesting to note that most Germans thought that the Jews were sent to relocation or resettlement camp, not extermination camps.
