Generally significantly. Specifically the bombing of Japan with two atomic bombs from aircraft caused the surrender of Japan and the finish of the war. You might want to add the effects of the blitzkrieg or lightening war as well. The German's used bombers with incredible effect, specifically in the early phases of the war to soften up the ground troops and hammer the allied forces. This helped the Germans in their rush across Europe.

Also the use of fighter aircraft in the Battle of Britain, largely halted the German invasion of the island. Without the spitfire and hurricane airplanes, the blitzkrieg may have succeeded.

A fascinating website is devoted to the role of aviation in the war. It might be worth checking out if you want more detail. It has a breakdown on many of the major air battles, the pilots and much more. http://www.century-of-flight.net/new%20site/frames2/world%20war%20two_frame.htm

World War II greatly affected aeronautics in many ways. Some of the most significant were the invention of radar, invention of the jet engine, and improvements made to the rocket.
