First, Lenin moved into control of the country in the October 1917 Revolution, which overthrew the Provisional Government. The Provisional Government had taken over from Tsar Nicholas II in the February 1917 Revolution, but it was still committed to fighting the war against the Central Powers. Once Lenin ousted the Provisional Government, he arranged the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk between Russia and the Central Powers to end Russia's involvement in the war.

before WW1 Russia had war wit Japan, so she was little weaken by that war....When Russian Empire entered war it was Tsar Nikolai decision to help Kingdom of Serbia to fight Austrian Hungary...But when Lenin came to power in 1917 he saw that Russian people doesn't have anything good from parcipating in WW1...Actually nider Britain, France, Germany or other big countries had anything good, WW1 was a war in wich many men died for 2m of land in trench war...So if Lenin wanted to make any changes to better in Soviet society, he had to stop the war that was exhausting for Russia...

What is the deal made between vladimir Lenin and the German government in 1917?

The German government agreed to escort Lenin from his exile in Switzerland back to Russia in order that Lenin could provoke another revolution that would take Russia out of World War I. This would allow Germany to move all the military forces it had fighting the Russians over to the western front to fight the French and English. The February Revolution and the abdication of the Tsar had already occurred, but the new Provisional Government did not stop the war. Germany hoped Lenin would at the very least make the Provisional Government end Russia's involvement in the war if not completely stop it by taking over the government, which is what happened. Lenin was not only transported back to Russia but he and the Bolsheviks received money from the Germans as well. Many rival political people accused them of being paid German agents.

How bad was Vladimir Lenin?

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin certainly had his bad points; many things associated with Stalin, such as death camps and little political tolerance for opposition, started with Lenin. However, in his personal life and overarching goals he was rather noble, and he truly tried to create a better world for the proletariat. He was not violently prejudiced against particular groups or races, like Hitler and Stalin later were, and he attempted to stop the imperialism sweeping the globe by empowering the poor and downtrodden.
