The artillery pieces appeared to be patterned after the famous 280mm (eleven inch in caliber- on the nose!) Railroad guns popularily called Big Berthas. There are many precautions that can be taken against a Christmas tree fire. For exmaple, keep lamps far from the tree (could egnite a fire), use only UL approved electrical decorations, place the tree far away from fire places or heated areas and unplug the Christmas tree lights when not in use.

Um... How big is your campfire... use logic... Don't get so close that you are going to burn yourself... But don't stand so far away that you can't even feel the heat.
