The Japanese A6M Mitsubishi Zero was crewed by a single pilot. At a length of 9.06 meters (29'9") with a wingspan of 12 meters (39'4"), it was powered by one Nakajima Sakae 12 radial engine that pushed 950 horsepower. Its rated maximum speed was 287 knots (331 mph) at 14,930 feet altitude. It carried two 7.7mm type 97 machine guns and two 20mm type 99 cannons on the wings. The machine guns cycled at 1000 rounds per minute allowing a single 30 second sustained burst, and the sing cannons carried 60 rounds that could be fired is a sustained burst for 7 seconds. Additionally, the Zero could be loaded with two 60 kg (132 lb) bombs, or two fixed 250 kg bombs for Kamikaze attacks.
