World War II involved maybe 70 million troops. Let's assume 30% of those are combat troops, for 20 million combat soldiers.
Let's say the average tour of duty was a year, and one battle was fought per day. The average battle involved a battalion of a thousand troops.
20 million soldiers / 1000 per battle is 20,000 battles per day per tour.

Europe happened in France, Britain, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Russia, Finland, Italy. Pacific and/or Asia of the Japan bombing raids like Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Malaysia and Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, Philippines, China. Africa was in Egypt, Libya, Harbor of Toronto, and Ethiopia.
