about half of the planet was involve in WW1 not including Australia, and South America
__
Australia was heavily involved in the war. They contributed a great number of soldiers/pilots/sailors to the war so they are included in those who participated.
It was a world war, many nations were involved not just the main ones. The main nations were; Central Powers:Germany,Austria-Hungary, Italy and Ottoman Empire.
Triple Entente or Allies: Britain, Soviet Union,France, and Belgium.Eventually Italy would switch over.
In total 35 countries fought in world war 2 but there were few neutral countries.
Heres a list of them
Allies
Axis
none of the world wars were litterally a world war, not all of the countries fought on both wars and the countries didnt fight everyone on each other in both wars, WW2 was classified as a war world because it splitted most of it [Europe and USA joined it too] into 2 groups that fought each other: Allies and Axis.
World War 1 was fought by Russia, the U.S., Canada, France, and Britain against Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary. The only one of these countries with a president was the U.S., with Woodrow Wilson. World War 2 was fought by the U.S., Britain, France, and Poland against Germany, Japan, and the Soviet Union. Again, the only one of these countries with a president was the U.S., with Franklin Roosevelt.

The term "2nd world" typically refers to the former communist/socialist countries in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Latin American countries are usually classified as "developing" or "emerging" economies, and are not typically referred to as "2nd world".
Good Question. Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world but there are only 12 major cricket- playing countries in the world and lots of smaller less-well-known countries that aren't broadcasted on Television.

During the Cold War, countries that allied themselves with the US and NATO were known as the 1st world. Countries that allied with the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact were the 2nd world. Countries that stayed nonaligned and neutral became known as the 3rd world. Today, third world nations refer to the poorest countries in the world.
China and America are the most developed countries on the planet. Sweden and all those 2nd world countries are crap....they still live in 17th century cities.
